• Nearly new: This covers cars from the time they are registered until they are a year old. Cars lose value the most in this period so it's not a bad idea to look for cars that are a year old

• Pre-registered: This is a new car that has been registered with the DVLA in the dealer's name. They can be good value when you buy them as a used car. The dealer will be registered on the logbook as the first owner

• Resale value: This is also known as retained or residual value. It is how much the car is worth after a period of time and with mileage on the clock
