Record breaking women drivers in the Formula Woman Novice Races

Club Formula Woman is a unique concept in motor sport. Women are given the opportunity to get involved in motor sport and improve their driving skills. The environment is entirely female which takes away the pressure of competing in a normally male dominated environment.

62 members of Formula Woman recently took part in the biggest female only race, in an attempt to break the world record for the largest amount of females in a single motor sport event. The event, which took place in Pembrey, South Wales, attracted around 4000 applicants which had to be whittled down to 100 people who then entered the Pembrey knockouts.

The race was designed to separate the women from the girls as well as setting a new world record. Channel 4 is soon to show a documentary on the race and reports on four competitors from different backgrounds.

Women who become members of Formula Woman are in a unique position to be able to improve their driving skills. They are taught by professionals in high performance cars and gain a new found confidence in their driving abilities.

Other advanced driving courses are available. Advanced driver training usually takes place in one day and allows the participant to develop in areas in such as motorway driving and driving in hazardous conditions. Another advantage to taking part in an advanced driving course is the opportunity to lower your car insurance premiums. If you can demonstrate your advanced ability behind the wheel then you can save yourself a packet.

*A replacement car can normally be arranged under one of the following conditions: (1) Comprehensive policyholders – a replacement car may be available under the terms of your insurance policy. (2) Non fault accident – where we have the name, car registration number and insurance details of the person who caused the accident, we can supply a replacement car. This is done on a credit hire basis which means the costs for this service will be passed onto the insurance company of the person who caused the accident. We may not be able to arrange a replacement car where we are unable to get an admission of liability from their insurance company, or where the driver is untraceable or uninsured. (3) Repair garage – if your car is booked in for repairs following an accident, the repair garage may be able to provide a replacement car (subject to availability).
