Women's car insurance is noticeably cheaper than men's simply because women are considered the safer drivers. Women are also thought to be more responsible when behind the wheel so it's crucial you take heed of warnings from police in Tayside.
Tayside police have had a crackdown on car owners who do not have a driving licence or motor insurance policy as they are both committing a serious motoring offence and posing a threat to the roads.
They have seized 42 vehicles, including 39 cars, two motorbikes and a horse transporter. 15 of these vehicles are due to be crushed unless their owners step forward to pay the penalty and claim them back.
So far, only seven offenders have paid the £105 penalty as well as the £12 per day storage costs and had their vehicles released.
A spokesperson for CoverGirl, the women's car insurance specialists, says: 'This is a great way of catching those people who are upping car insurance rates for all the honest motorists.
'It is still possible to get a cheap car insurance deal through an online car insurance provider, particularly if you're a woman. However, as more of these law dodgers are caught, we should see further reductions in women's car insurance.
