A few years ago the chances of spotting a woman driving around with an England flag poking out of her car window would have been pretty rare.
It's no longer just tattooed footy fans with enormous beer bellies that fly their country's flag leading up to the World Cup, but ladies taking an interest in the game are now showing their passion too.
But police have warned that your cheap car insurance for women premium could be under threat if the flag detaches itself from your vehicle and becomes a "missile". According to officers, flags breaking off and flying through the air could cause damage to other cars and pedestrians, and there is a chance of a dangerous driving charge being imposed if this happens.
Mark Perryman from the England Supporters' Club heard about the threat to motor insurance premiums and told the media, "If there is a serious health and safety issue it needs to be taken seriously.
"But I was at Old Trafford for England's last match and about 25 percent of the cars carried flags. I didn't see any of them flying off and blinding people."
A spokesperson for CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, the car insurance for women experts, commented, "It's best to make sure your flag is secured properly because if it comes loose it could easily be a danger to other road users and could affect your right to a cheap car insurance deal."
