A mother whose baby was thrown through a sunroof in a car accident could face being charged by police.
The female car insurance customer was driving with her mother on the M65 when the car accident happened on 31st August.
The four-month-old was sitting on his grandmother's knee in the front passenger seat when the car lost control and sent the baby flying through the sunroof.
He landed unhurt on the side of the motorway as the woman's car flipped over several times, finally coming to a stop on an embankment.
The female driver and her mother were taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital after emergency rescuers spent 90 minutes cutting them free from the vehicle.
The family, including a two-year-old girl who was sitting in a child's seat in the back of the car, all escaped the accident without any serious personal injuries.
Police have said that they are considering charging those involved and will be speaking with the baby's mother and grandmother.
If the driver of the vehicle is charged, she could later find it difficult to get affordable female car insurance and will have to shop around for the cheapest motor insurance available.
