Out with the old and in with the new civil enforcement officers

You’ll have no problem when it comes to getting women’s car insurance at a great price, however you may have trouble with Edna the evil traffic warden.

Traffic wardens get a lot of stick but while some will argue they are merely the doing the job they are paid to do others will dispute that they are dead set on making motorists lives a misery.

But, the government has announced that by next summer a more “driver friendly” parking system will come into force.

Traffic wardens will be re-titled ‘civil enforcement officers’ and will be asked to relax the rules a little. They will also only be allowed to clamp the cars of people who repeatedly break the rules and end up on a national computer database.

Lee-Anne Bass of CoverGirl, specialists in car insurance for women, comments: “We conducted a survey and found that 59% of our customers feel that a little bit of slack on parking rules wouldn’t go a miss. Many have been caught out when arriving back to their car a few minutes after the metre has run only to be greeted with a parking fine.

“However, you should always abide by motoring laws from parking tickets to drink-driving in order to make sure you always have a right to cheap motor insurance.”

*A replacement car can normally be arranged under one of the following conditions: (1) Comprehensive policyholders – a replacement car may be available under the terms of your insurance policy. Please check your policy details for more information. (2) Non fault accident – where we have the name, car registration number and insurance details of the person who caused the accident, we can supply a replacement car. This is done on a credit hire basis which means the costs for this service will be passed onto the insurance company of the person who caused the accident. We may not be able to arrange a replacement car where we are unable to get an admission of liability from their insurance company, or where the driver is untraceable or uninsured. (3) Repair garage – if your car is booked in for repairs following an accident, the repair garage may be able to provide a replacement car (subject to availability).
