Men and their motors
It may not be news to many women but lots of men lavish more love and attention on their cars than they do on their wives and girlfriends. A new survey by eBay Motors reveals that a large number of men are obsessed with their cars.
The study of 1,000 men showed that they not only spend a lot of money on their ‘motors’ but also spend more time in the garage or under the car than with their woman! 24% of men actually admitted to prioritising their cars over their partner. 38% of men admit that they prioritise working and cleaning their cars over any thing else. They spend a whopping average of £2,426 on their cars, compared to a measly £1, 066 on their partners. Just think of all the gifts we’re losing to the darned car!
Another interesting statistic, which is very revealing, is that 26% of men don’t let their partner behind the wheel of their beloved. This is despite statistics that show women are much less likely to be involved in a serious accident. Men are more likely to lose their no claims discount when they’re driving their precious car than when their partner is taking the helm. Women make fewer serious car insurance claims than men so are cheaper to insure.
