Renaut’s New Clio, a woman driver’s dream and already a winner of countless awards, has scooped further acclaim after grabbing the prestigious Best Supermini gong at the 2006 What Car? Awards.
Launched in October 2005 to build on the success of its greatly-loved predecessor, the New Clio won the toughly contested group after impressing the judges with a number of factors including its fantastic drivability, exquisite road-handling, impressive safety features and cheap car insurance group rating.
Renault’s divine creation is classed as group four insurance, which means that for a woman, car insurance should be fairly cheap. It comes with a 1.2 or a 1.4 litre engine and has a considerable amount of oomph yet doesn’t guzzle fuel.
Although a reasonably small car, the New Clio is ideal for shopping trips and weekends away, providing loads of space for bags, clothes and other bits and pieces. The judges noticed this too, commenting, “The sophisticated feel continues inside… the new one is as roomy and classy as you could hope for. There’s ample head and legroom up front, and a good-sized boot… the dash is simple and stylish, and the cabin materials have a sturdy, modern feel.”
In addition, the judges discussed the New Clio’s excellent safety features, saying, “Safety is another of the Clio’s plus points- front, side and curtain airbags are standard and it’s one of only a handful of superminis to score five stars in Euro NCAP crash tests.”
So, with all the rave reviews that the New Clio’s been receiving, there isn’t many better cars on the road today. It starts from a price of only £8,895, and with the deals offered by specialist women’s car insurance providers, insuring this little beauty is going to cost peanuts.
A beautiful car at a beautiful price. Enough said.
