PSA Peugeot Citroën Introduces Traffic Information System with ViaMichelin
PSA Peugeot Citroën has enhanced its driver support services with the launch in France of a traffic information system to be offered on Peugeot and Citroën cars in partnership with ViaMichelin.

The new service is based on the RT3/Navidrive telematics platform that, as part of the same option, already offers a high quality CD/radio audio system, a GPS navigation system, a hands-free GSM telephone with voice recognition, and, since 2003, an emergency call system that is now being deployed across Europe.

Upstream, ViaMichelin recovers data collected from various sources and harmonises, aggregates and integrates them. They are then transmitted in real time to the RT3 / Navidrive platform by radio, in compliance with RDS-TMC standards. If requested by the driver, the navigation support system can at any moment process this information to suggest alternative routes that reduce driving time.

Since September, the new service has gradually been included in the RT3 / Navidrive option, which is available on all Peugeot and Citroën models except the Peugeot 107 and Citroën C1, C2, Xsara Picasso. Customers with earlier versions of the system can upgrade to the new service when they update their navigation maps at a Peugeot or Citroën dealership.

*A replacement car can normally be arranged under one of the following conditions: (1) Comprehensive policyholders – a replacement car may be available under the terms of your insurance policy. Please check your policy details for more information. (2) Non fault accident – where we have the name, car registration number and insurance details of the person who caused the accident, we can supply a replacement car. This is done on a credit hire basis which means the costs for this service will be passed onto the insurance company of the person who caused the accident. We may not be able to arrange a replacement car where we are unable to get an admission of liability from their insurance company, or where the driver is untraceable or uninsured. (3) Repair garage – if your car is booked in for repairs following an accident, the repair garage may be able to provide a replacement car (subject to availability).
