Although 12.7 million men have been found culpable of such driving hazards, ten million women are just as guilty. This means girls are at risk of losing their reputation as the lower risk drivers and could see an increase in their cheap motor insurance premiums as a result.
Donna Maddock, a 22-year-old driver from Mold was filmed by the police with a compact mirror in one hand and an eye liner in the other while doing 32mph. She had no choice but to plead guilty, was fined £200 and received six points to her licence.
A spokesperson from CoverGirl, the car insurance for women experts, says: 'As long as women drivers continue to drive in a responsible manner and those with bad habits clean up their act, cheap car insurance for women can still be had by all.
