Renault offer free car insurance

If you've finally found your dream car after weeks of searching, the last thing you want to do is hang around and wait for car insurance before you can drive it.

Luckily, if you buy a Renault from a registered dealer, you'll now get one week's worth of motor insurance thrown in for absolutely nothing, meaning that you can drive your new purchase home within the hour.

The new service is called 'Cover To Go' and is the latest in a trend that sees manufacturers giving away free motor insurance in a bid to boost sales. Having purchased the car, all you need to do is ring Renault's car insurance hotline and you'll be offered a quote for a year's cover. Whether or not you choose to take the year-long policy, you'll still be entitled to the free insurance for a week.

A week is long enough to get your car home and log onto the net to get a great cheap car insurance deal from a specialist women's car insurance provider, which could be more cost-effective than the price Renault are offering.

A spokesman from the French motor company said, "With such an innovative range of cars, it is only right that Renault offers its customers equally inventive after-sales programmes which provide the highest standard of customer service.

"In this case we're offering our customers a win-win opportunity, as with Cover To Go even if they decide not to purchase a one-year policy from Renault Insurance, our customers still receive seven days car insurance cover completely free of charge, enabling them to drive their new or used Renault away that day."

*A replacement car can normally be arranged under one of the following conditions: (1) Comprehensive policyholders – a replacement car may be available under the terms of your insurance policy. Please check your policy details for more information. (2) Non fault accident – where we have the name, car registration number and insurance details of the person who caused the accident, we can supply a replacement car. This is done on a credit hire basis which means the costs for this service will be passed onto the insurance company of the person who caused the accident. We may not be able to arrange a replacement car where we are unable to get an admission of liability from their insurance company, or where the driver is untraceable or uninsured. (3) Repair garage – if your car is booked in for repairs following an accident, the repair garage may be able to provide a replacement car (subject to availability).
