A new survey by Vauxhall has discovered a new breed of 20-something women who value their freedom and their free time more than their jobs.
Researchers were surprised to find that the all-work-and-no-play career women of yesteryear are being replaced by girls for whom work is just a means to an end; namely, having a good time - on holiday, at home, or out on the town.
They've come up with a chic new name for these fun-loving girls: "young urban females", or "yufs" for short.
And of course, changes in the way women lead their lives will be reflected in women's car insurance prices.
If us girls are more focussed on enjoying our free time than climbing the corporate ladder, that means more money spent on our cars, and more time spent in them. This in turn means greater chances for a crash, and that suggests motor insurance premiums will go up.
But if we're becoming more independent, that suggests more women will be making sure they get the cheapest car insurance going - and that's always going to be with a ladies-only policy.
So the jury's out. It's certain the rise of yufs will have some effect on how cheap car insurance for women is, but we'll just have to wait and see what that effect is.
