Those searching for cheap car insurance for women might be well advised to stay away from satellite navigation systems.
According to recent police statistics, thieves seem to be rating sat nav systems as one of the best items to steal, with 108 stolen in Oxfordshire since February.
There are hundreds of women drivers that have become victims of sat nav theft UK-wide, many of whom have had to make a claim on their motor insurance policy.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said, "Leaving any valuables in the car is a serious risk, however, the growing use of Sat-Nav systems is creating another new target for these criminals along with laptops, iPods, CDs, cash and mobile phones.
"Across Oxfordshire opportunist criminals are taking advantage and crime rates are increasing, while the police continue with high-visibility patrols and targeting of known offenders through intelligence-led operations."
By taking steps such as keeping their car in a garage, motorists can reduce the chance of becoming victims of theft and make their car insurance for women more affordable at the same time.
