For Paris Hilton, fashionista and style icon to many young women, car insurance at a cheap rate may be a thing of the past.
Recently the heiress of the prestigious hotel chain lost control and collided with another car when leaving a car park in LA.
The US It Girl was filmed leaving the scene of the accident as though nothing had happened, which is a driving offence in California and could result in penalties such as points on your licence and an increase in your motor insurance rate.
In her defence, a representative for Paris commented: 'Did she commit a crime? No. She was swarmed by paparazzi. The intensity of the lights' flashbulbs momentarily disoriented her.
'Paris is a very responsible and a very good driver, she takes her driving seriously. This was unfortunate and it will be handled appropriately.'
Lee-Anne Bass, from CoverGirl, the cheap car insurance for women experts, adds: 'It is important that all women take a serious approach to driving and report any driving accidents they have, no matter how minor.
'For women, car insurance rates can be really cheap and the more responsible female drivers are, the more chance there is of keeping these prices low.'
