A recent comparison of car insurance for women rates in Scotland has revealed that women-only insurers are producing the lowest priced premiums in an ever-increasing competitive market.
It is believed that women have the advantage of cheaper car insurance rates as they make fewer and lower claims. However, the jury is still out about whether ladies make the best drivers (especially if you ask a man!).
Currently, women in the UK pay an average of £434.53 per annum for their car insurance premium, almost £250 less than male motorists.
The cost of motor insurance has seen a general decrease over the last year and with an increase in insurers that specialise in car insurance for women these rates are set to decline further.
The Scotsman compared eight car insurance providers, six of which were aimed especially at women, in order to establish if all the hype about cheap car insurance for women is fact or fiction. Among leading contenders such as Budget and Diamond, they found that female car insurance provider Sheila's Wheels offered the most competitive premiums in this instance.
This suggests that cheap car insurance for women is definitely out there and Lee-Anne Bass from CoverGirl, the car insurance for women specialists, had this to add: 'There are plenty of great low cost car insurance deals to be had for female drivers.
'Online car insurance services, such as us, that specialise in car insurance for women, offer the cheapest rates on the market. We are, after all, the better drivers and so we deserve a reward.'
