Stick-thin Jodie Kidd, glamorous millionairess and supermodel catwalk queen, has joined forces with the DVLA to head a new initiative encouraging people to use the internet to make sure they renew their road tax and car insurance on time.
The 27-year-old Surrey lass appeared in Norwich as part of the nationwide campaign and said, "For a busy person like me, trying to find all my documents and process a tax disc application between nine to five on a weekday is a real hassle.
"Last year my dog chewed up my car insurance certificate so that added to the nightmare.
"So far I've been a good girl and have never been caught out but there have been a few close shaves, especially as I own three cars."
Ms Kidd does indeed have three cars and is the proud owner of a Lamborghini, a Maserati and a Ferrari. A self-confessed driving addict, she has in the past taken part in the notorious Gumball cross-continent rally, joining celebrity racers as they tear across the roads of Europe in a variety of über-fast supercars.
As part of the DVLA campaign, the supermodel is also promoting the use of new-style MOT certificates that can be verified electronically and are linked to a database containing each motorist's car insurance and tax status.
Craig Handy, spokesman for CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, specialists in providing car insurance for women, said, "Nobody likes paying for their motor insurance and some people see it as a huge hassle. But using an online provider you can take the stress out of the whole process."
