Toyota Aygo - a women’s car insurance dream

Congestion charges, speed cameras, ridiculously priced petrol, crazy parking prices and road tolls. It seems that there's just no end to the bashing that motorists have received over the last few years.

But the fightback is on.

It started with motor insurance firms offering women cheap car insurance deals in the recognition that they cause far less accident, and now the manufacturers have jumped on the bandwagon too.

Toyota have released a right corker of a car that is, get this, cheap to buy, cheap to run and cheap to insure. God bless you Toyota.

This new little diamond is called the Aygo, and designed with the help of Peugeot and Citroen, was proclaimed the worthy winner of Top Gear's prestigious Car of the Year award for 2005.

With a top speed of 98mph and a one-litre 67bhp engine, the Aygo is nippy for getting around town and for such a small car, can more than hold its own on the motorway. It comes with all the latest gumph including an MP3-compatible CD player, speed-sensitive power steering, twin airbags and anti-lock brakes.

But the best thing about the Toyota Aygo is its soooooo cheap.

It starts at £6,745, which for such a lovely motor is an absolute bargain. Included in that is a three-year or 60,000-mile warranty, so you know that should anything go wrong with your new little baby then it’s all gonna be taken care of.

Car insurance - wise the Aygo is a dream. It’s classed as motor insurance group 1E, which basically means that you’re not going to find a cheaper car to insure, full stop. And dealing with a firm that specialises in women's car insurance, girls are going to be paying next to nothing for a policy on their Aygo.

So don't delay, get one today, you'd be mad not to.

*A replacement car can normally be arranged under one of the following conditions: (1) Comprehensive policyholders – a replacement car may be available under the terms of your insurance policy. Please check your policy details for more information. (2) Non fault accident – where we have the name, car registration number and insurance details of the person who caused the accident, we can supply a replacement car. This is done on a credit hire basis which means the costs for this service will be passed onto the insurance company of the person who caused the accident. We may not be able to arrange a replacement car where we are unable to get an admission of liability from their insurance company, or where the driver is untraceable or uninsured. (3) Repair garage – if your car is booked in for repairs following an accident, the repair garage may be able to provide a replacement car (subject to availability).
