A 22-year-old motorist will be paying more for her women's car insurance premium next year after being snapped on a police camera applying make-up with both hands.
Donna Maddock, from Mold in Wales, pleaded guilty to careless driving at Pwlhelli Magistrates' Court and has been given six points and fined £200.
She told the court she couldn't see what all the fuss was about and was getting glammed-up on the way to visit her married lover. She said, "It is what I would call one of my blonde moments. I am so blonde it is untrue when it comes to things like that.
"I must have looked like Penelope Pitstop driving along slapping on the make-up, but it's something all women do- I can't see what the fuss is about."
She was caught doing 32mph through a notorious accident blackspot on the A499 whilst steering with part of her left arm and holding her make-up pot with her left hand. With her right hand she was applying eye-shadow without using a mirror.
Craig Handy, spokesman for CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, specialist women's car insurance providers, said, "Not paying full attention to the road is dangerous and whatever you're doing- be it applying your make-up, styling your hair or shaving your legs- you're likely to get charged if you're caught."
