You might be able to benefit from cheap car insurance for women, but you're likely to get ripped-off when you go shopping for a new car.
That's according to a recent study by What Car magazine, who reveal that women are being charged up to £500 more than their male counterparts when shopping for the same car.
What Car dispatched mystery buyers to 45 motor dealerships all across Britain in an attempt to discover how salesmen conducted themselves when dealing with different genders. The results show that women are bamboozled much more easily and end up shelling-out far more money for the same product.
The study also revealed that as many as 70% of women feel like they aren't being taken seriously when dealt with by a car salesman, and most end up trusting the advice they are given even if it's not totally correct.
Craig Handy, spokesperson from CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, specialists in providing cheap car insurance for women, said, "What you've got to remember is that no matter how nice they seem, no salesman is your friend.
"If you can, take someone who knows a bit about cars along with you when you visit the showrooms, but if you can't do that, make sure you do your research before you go so you know if you're being fed a load of rubbish."
