Specifically, police are warning shoppers in the Glasshoughton area this weekend. They will even be at hand to give crime prevention advice at the Junction 32 Retail Park.
Officers will focus on advising shoppers not to keep valuables on display or stored in the boot as criminals are wise to this.
Newly bought shopping, complete with the price tags, is the ideal target for thieves as they can often return stolen goods back to the shops and recover the cash.
It is also vital to always lock your car doors, even if just popping to the machine to purchase a parking ticket.

'Having your car broken into is a horrible experience; it's intrusive, costly and highly inconvenient.
