Women drivers could lose the right to cheap car insurance if they fail to concentrate on the busy roads during the holiday season.
Eve Magazine's motoring website for women is urging female drivers to concentrate on the busy roads this summer, as every year more than 3,000 women drivers are killed or seriously injured in road accidents.
Sally Jones, editor of the magazine's website said, "It's easy to treat your car as a combination of home, entertainment centre, office and beauty parlour, especially if you're a mum who finds it is the only space you have to get organised. But think of a multifunctional vehicle only when you're parked up. When you hit the road, concentrate on your driving."
Women who are making their holiday trips on the motorways are being told to take extra care, especially if their car breaks down. Female drivers should always make sure they get out of the car and wait on an embankment for emergency services to arrive.
Lee-Anne Bass, a spokesperson from Cover Girl Car Insurance Services, the expert car insurance for women providers commented, "Women drivers should take extra care on the busy roads during the holiday season and plan their trip in advance. They should ensure their cars are fit for the road and take regular breaks on long trips."
If a female driver was to make a claim after an accident, she could face losing her no claims bonus and miss out on cheap car insurance in the future.
