Good news girls - the cost of motor insurance is falling, meaning you don't need to feel guilty about splashing out on those delicious shoes that you've been staring at in the shop window for the last week.
So go out and buy them, because Sainsbury's Bank has revealed that the average price of a car insurance premium has fallen from £470.17 last August, to £462.15 in January 2006.
If you're a lady of more mature years, you could save even more money because the stats show that premiums for over 65s came down from £342.49 to £327.13 - a drop of almost 4.5%.
Not surprisingly, city girls pay the most for their motor insurance, with the average London premium standing at whopping £559.31. In contrast, country girls have the lowest insurance and those from East Anglia can expect to fork out an average of just £326.15.
A spokesman from Sainsbury's Bank said, "Competition in the car insurance marketplace is strong so it pays to shop around for cover.
"However, despite this, we estimate that as many as 19% of motorists only obtain one quote when they purchase car insurance. Indeed, we know that 48% simply renew their existing policy."
Craig Handy from CoverGirl Car Insurance Services said, "Even though prices on motor insurance have fallen, specialist women's car insurance providers can often offer great deals that can save you even more money."
