The CoverGirl Car Insurance Services guide to seatbelt safety

If you are a woman, car insurance is much cheaper for you than it is for a man. At CoverGirl Car Insurance Services we only insure women so you will not be subsidising male drivers who are known to cause more high value car accidents and therefore make higher value car insurance claims. We save our customers lots of money on their premiums, some people find that they save significantly on what they are currently paying.

We also save our customers money as we have cut back on our own overheads. We are an online company so only have a small call centre and we don't have to pay for a high street branch. We also avoid advertising in the media as a prime time TV advert can cost as much as £10,000 per minute to air! All these savings are passed straight back to you.

In addition to the massive savings we can afford to make you on your motor insurance, we also offer some fabulous advice about motoring, car insurance and safety. So, if you're not sure about something the answer is bound to be here. Read on to find out about checking your seatbelt to make sure it is in full working order.

Seatbelt safety
Although seatbelts are designed to last for a very long time they can sometimes wear out. Check all your belts for signs of wear and tear such as fraying, cuts or tears. This is particularly important if you travel with children in your car

Ensure that all the belts operate smoothly and without jarring. They should pull out, lock, unlock and retract properly in order to work correctly

Pull on your seatbelts until they lock. Then keep pulling to check that all the seatbelt mounts are secure. This is vitally important in the event of an accident

Check that there is no rust around any of the metal components of the seatbelts

Check your seats for movement. When the seat is locked into place you should not be able to move it at all
