Want to own a BMW? Listen up!

If you've only just passed your test and you want the best car that money can buy, don't worry. With the right job and hobby, you too could be the proud owner of a BMW. But what exactly maketh a BMW customer? CoverGirl Car Insurance Services finds out.

At just 18 years old and working part-time at our local supermarket, there's not much that you can afford to buy in the world of motoring. If you're lucky enough to have rich parents that will lavish you with a brand new Ford Focus or Vauxhall Corsa then you'll have no problems with someday owning a luxury BMW. However, if you're forced to buy the cheapest car in the newspaper, then you may need to work at things a little harder.

Every car manufacturer recognises that their brand targets certain customers more than others but none more so than BMW. With such a strong relationship with their customers, the world famous car producer has without a doubt taken the time to get to know the people that buy their vehicles.

We don't mean that they invite people round to the head offices for a cup of tea but with the odd questionnaire here and there, a clear profile has been made of the type of person that can afford the luxury of owning a car that's been built with such quality engineering - after all, BMW started off as professionals in the aircraft industry.

If you can only just get enough pennies together to afford a cheap car insurance policy and want to know what targets to set yourself in the hope of owning a BMW, here's what the manufacture's own research has concluded.

What job does a BMW owner have?
Research carried out by BMW over the last few years has found that owners of the 6 Series and the 7 Series were most likely to be owners of a large business or be retired. The majority of people splashing out the cash on an X3 tended to be housewives who jointly owned the vehicle with their husbands. The study also found that many of BMW's customers, in particular, managers and retired people were buying the 3 Series.

If you need a few goals in your life, here's something to get you motivated. If you want to own a BMW 6 Series, you'll have to pull your socks up, because, with the majority of owners having their very own business with 100-plus employees, you're going to need to start saving. Either that or do the lottery on Saturday!

What hobbies does a BMW customer have?
If you've made some great savings on young driver car insurance and you're thinking of investing in a new hobby, then why not take something up that most BMW car owners tend to enjoy? After all, if you want to someday flourish into the proud owner of a Coupe or Touring then there are plenty of activities you can take up to match BMW's customer profile.

According to BMW's findings, many of their customers enjoyed keeping fit; jogging and aerobics were particular favourites among those who owned the 1 Series. Some of the other hobbies that came high on the list included reading, hiking, golf and gardening. It can be safely said that nobody really classed going out on the town on a Friday night with their mates as their preferred hobby - that's much more suited to younger drivers with inexpensive cars.

So, there you have it, a good, clear summary of somebody who shops with BMW. The general understanding is that BMW's customers are generally middle-aged, have worked hard all their life and are now reaping the benefits. In their spare time they enjoy the finer things in life, which includes getting out of the office and into the fresh, open air.

We may not be able to arrange a replacement car where we are unable to get an admission of liability from their insurance company, or where the driver is untraceable or uninsured. (3) Repair garage – if your car is booked in for repairs following an accident, the repair garage may be able to provide a replacement car (subject to availability).
