Over the years BMW has been given a number of awards for its contribution to the motoring industry and rightly so. BMW won this prestigious title at an event held by What Car? The award went to their 30d ES Saloon which was competing in the Compact Exec category.

User Chooser Car of The Year
At the Fleet Excellence Awards, an event that draws on the voting of 30,000 plus readers of Fleet Week and Fleet Management, BMW was awarded this excellent title for its 3 Series range.

Speaking on why readers voted for this range, Editor of Fleet Week, Tristan Young, said: "Available from under £20,000, the 3 Series range provides choice for any business and its drivers, offering seven different engines and four specification levels. A class-leading combination of fuel economy, emissions and performance irrespective of model, cements its appeal to the all important company car driver."

Best Trailie, Best Sports-Tourer and Best Tourer
BMW showed that their range of motorbikes were also favorites in the world of motorcycling and picked up three trophies at the Motor Cycle News Awards.

Speaking about the successful night, BMW's Motorrad's General Manager for Motorcycles, Adrian Roderick, said: "We've had a fantastic year so far in 2006 with the launch of six new models. To win the Best Trailie award for the new R 1200 GS Adventure is fantastic for us, as we knew that the R 1150 GS Adventure predecessor model was going to be a seriously hard act to follow. "
