A motor insurance firm has revealed that female drivers are less likely than men to know what their car insurance covers.
EasyMoney.com carried out a study which showed one in eight ladies were unsure what they would be able to claim on their car insurance for women for. This compares to the national average of one in ten being confused as to their motor insurance policy details.
Despite this apparent lack of knowledge, 68% of British drivers felt that they had got a cheap car insurance deal. This is something which is thought to be an easier achievement for ladies than men, as car insurance for women is generally cheaper.
Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder of EasyMoney.com, commented: "It's amazing that so many people are shelling out so much money with no idea what they are paying for and for 'services' which they never use."
Lee-Anne Bass, of women's car insurance company CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, said: "I think so many people are unclear about their motor insurance policy because of complex insurance terminology.
"We would advise any lady who isn't sure what she is getting in a woman's car insurance policy to take a few minutes to read through our car insurance glossary."
