Sitcom-star-turned-R&B siren Brandy Norwood stands to lose a fortune on bad publicity and car insurance for women after she was involved in a four car pile-up in Los Angeles.
The "Moesha" cast member ran into a Honda on California Freeway 405 at 110 kph, after failing to slow down.
The force of the shunt sent the unfortunate Honda careering into a third vehicle before slamming into the central reservation, where it was subsequently hit by another oncoming car.
Brandy, who drives a 2007 Land Rover, escaped the crash uninjured. Her publicity team promised reporters she hadn't been drinking or taking drugs, though this won't be enough to save her from a hefty mark-up on future motor insurance premiums.
"I expect Brandy can afford high-priced car insurance for women," said CoverGirl spokeswoman Lee-Anne Bass, "but the bad publicity this story will generate could potentially wreck her career."
