US news channel KSDK has proved yet again that us women make the most responsible drivers and thoroughly deserve cheap car insurance premiums.
Reporters for the St Louis-based station watched as students at Kirkwood High School pulled up for class one afternoon in Febuary 2007, and noted a significantly higher proportion of females were wearing seatbelts.
Kirkwood teens are notorious for flouting seatbelt laws and local police have mounted a road safety campaign to try and convince more of them to belt up. But as you might expect, it seems that Kirkwood's girls are paying more attention than its boys.
"There's no excuse for anyone not to be wearing a seatbelt," said Lee-Anne Bass, spokesperson for the women's car insurance experts at CoverGirl.
"Women are statistically more responsible drivers, and this case is no exception. I just wish the incentive of cheap car insurance would convince more men to drive safely," she added.
