A lady driver has well and truly waived her right to cheap car insurance for women after driving the wrong way down the Frank Perkins Parkway in Peterborough.
It's thought motor insurance quotes on her Renault Clio will go through the roof after she caused a three vehicle pile-up that put one man in hospital.
First the reckless 34-year-old collided head-on with a Honda Civic. The driver of the Civic sustained multiple fractures and had to be rushed to hospital, and the woman, who suffered cuts and bruises, was pinned in her car.
More carnage was to come when a Nissan Sunny pulled over next to the mangled cars. The driver had intended to help one of the injured parties but ended up part of the pile-up himself when an HGV struck the stationary Nissan.
Fortunately, neither driver was seriously hurt in this second collision but the cost of damages skyrocketed as a result.
The parkway had to be closed for eight hours while emergency crews cleared oil, glass and other crash debris from the tarmac.
The woman who started it all was eventually freed from her car and taken to Peterborough District Hospital. Her injuries are slight but the price of her car insurance for women may never recover!
