Considering that the huge disparity in price for car insurance for women and men is based on gender differences, it is quite surprising that a survey has found something to do with motoring that both agree on.
The University of Reading has been studying the British Crime Survey, which canvassed the opinions of 17,000 people on crime in the UK. During this analysis, researchers found that both men and women loathe speeding.
Speeding was voted the most irritating anti-social behaviour by 43% of the participants, beating other crimes such as vandalism of vehicles and property, intimidation and drunkenness.
This is a somewhat surprising finding as another recent poll found that 85% of the population admit to going over the speed limit sometimes.
Lee-Anne Bass of CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, a company which specialises in cheap car insurance for women, commented: "These results seem to suggest that a large amount of people do drive too fast but don't see themselves as part of the problem.
"The only thing we can do is reinforce the importance of sticking to the speed limits, which not only protects you but your motor insurance quotes too."
