Female drivers test their skill in Marie Curie charity event

South Somerset ladies will be putting their car insurance for women to the test when they tackle all sorts of motor vehicles in a charity event.

Women drivers will be raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care by driving unusual vehicles such as World War II fire engines, double-decker buses and army trucks.

The Marie Curie Ladies Driving Challenge will be taking place near Ilton on March 3rd 2007, by which time organisers hope each entrant will have got over £100 in sponsorship.

All female motorists must have a full UK driving licence to take part and will be supervised by an experienced driver.

A spokesperson for CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, a firm specialising in car insurance for women, said: "This sounds like a really fun event for the more adventurous women drivers amongst us.

"Let's just hope everyone finishes the day with their motor insurance intact!"
