Ladies are being advised to take into consideration whether breakdown cover is included when they are getting cheap car insurance quotes.
Women have a choice of buying breakdown cover on its own or buying it as part of a motor insurance policy. According to research group Defaqto, it often works out cheaper for ladies to choose the latter option, and select a car insurance policy that includes breakdown cover.
Zurich and M&S are two companies which do include breakdown cover in their car insurance quotes, whilst other insurers such as Direct Line offer cut-price breakdown cover to their motor insurance customers.
However, ladies are also reminded about the huge choice of specialist breakdown cover policies out there, which include those from the AA, RAC, Europ Assistance, and Auto Aid.
A spokesperson for Tesco Personal Finance said: "There's a lot of choice out there. We want people to look beyond the usual providers and look around."
