Cheap car insurance customers love cruising in black cars

What the survey says
A recent survey by cheap car insurance provider yesinsurnace.co.uk found that the most popular choices of vehicle colour were black, silver and red. In contrast to this, the least favourite colours were white and grey - of course some people would love to have a white car.

A total of 4,000 motorists were asked about their colour preference in the survey, so it's fair to say that the results can't be far wrong. Good news for Henry Ford, who famously said that his customers could have any colour of car 'as long as it was black'.

A spokesman for the cheap car insurance company said: "The results are interesting, because they measure the preferences of motorists who may not be in a position to buy a new car today, but who may well be in the market for one within the next few years."

The following list of top colours was discovered during a survey by the Society of Motor Manufactures and Traders in 2005. As you can see they results show that people's choices of colour haven't changed a great deal over the last few years.
