A leading women's motoring website is warning ladies of the motor insurance implications of using a mobile whilst driving.
FemaleFirst is cautioning women drivers about the increased penalties for being caught driving whilst using a hand held mobile which come into force on February 27th 2007.
Those caught breaking the law in this way will face three points on the driving license and a fine of £60, as opposed to the current £30 fine.
FemaleFirst is warning women that the penalty points will also have implications for cheap car insurance quotes.
It revealed that most women's motor insurance companies will increase premiums by an average of 6% for a first conviction, 21% for a second conviction and up to 52% for a third conviction.
The female driving site is also advising that these figures are likely to increase in coming months and years, as cheap car insurance companies begin to take penalty points more seriously.
