A lady caused chaos in a high street when she reversed through a Bristol shop window, wrecking both stock and her cheap car insurance rates.
It is not clear exactly what caused the accident, in which the Vauxhall Astra flew backwards through the glass window of the Skate and Ski Shop in Staple Hill.
A shop worker said: "I was standing by the counter serving a customer and this car just came through the window. It happened in a few seconds."
Window display stock including skis, boots and snowboards was reportedly damaged in the incident. Fortunately nobody was seriously hurt, although the female driver was taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries.
A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue commented: "We were called just after 3:15pm and an elderly female was already out of the car when we arrived.
"She had gone through the window. We helped pull it back out. It was quite a mess."
Lee-Anne Bass, of the cheap car insurance company CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, said: "It is lucky that there was nobody standing near the window when the accident occurred.
"As it happens, it is likely that the lady's car insurance company will make up for all the damage done."
