A lady from Sussex has shown why it is that ladies get such cheap car insurance by taking to the racing circuit in her Mini.
The 26-year-old, who lives in Seaford, is a huge Mini enthusiast and took up racing vintage Minis in 2005.
Her most recent success saw her take the chequered flag in the Heritage Grand Touring Car Challenge in Snetterton, Norfolk, in which she raced against about 60 men in cars from the 60s and 70s.
She is a perfect example of why woman car insurance is so affordable, and claims that her prowess behind the wheel is down to her refusal to be beaten by men.
The Mini fanatic commented: "There should be more women competing but they can feel a bit intimidated by the men. I don't pay any attention to the jokes about female drivers.
"I'm very pleased I was able to win because it is such a male dominated environment."
Gemma Turner, a spokesperson for the cheap car insurance for women specialists at CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, said: "Good for her! This lady has shown that female drivers are more than a match for their male counterparts - something which us women have known for a long time."
