Women are being warned to protect their cheap car insurance rates by listening to signposts when parking at beauty spots around the Kidderminster area.
According to West Mercia Police, thieves have struck 100 times at car parks around the Clent Hills and the Lickey Hills since April 2006.
Despite efforts to put off the thieves with increased police presence and publishing warnings in local papers, criminal activity at the car parks has not abated and motorists are still having to make motor insurance claims following break ins.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We have issued a warning nearly every week in the local press and we have posters up at the sites, but we still seem to be getting break-ins. It could be because many of the people live outside the area and don't see the warnings."
In an attempt to reduce the amount of car crime at the beauty spots and save visitors' cheap car insurance rates, police are looking into getting talking signposts installed.
These would alert visitors to the presence of thieves in the area and advise them not to leave any belongings in their vehicles.
