Not only are female drivers safer than men, but we are also more honest about our motor insurance.
According to a top price-comparison-website survey 39% of men would be unwilling to accept blame for their forgetfulness to secure their vehicle when claiming for a stolen car. Only 26% of women would lie.
The survey questioned 1'404 motorists, with only 36% willing to tell the truth. 33% would not tell the truth and 31% were unsure.
Proportionately, these figures equate to over 11 million UK car drivers who would be willing to bend the truth when claiming from their car insurance company.
A spokesperson said, "You may think that telling a little white lie or holding back the whole truth is no cause for concern but if your claim is as a result of your own wrongdoing, insurers are likely to see it as fraudulent."
For every falsified claim that is successful the honest motorist will pick up the price tag next time they apply for motor insurance. Hopefully, these new findings regarding female honesty will ultimately result in cheaper car insurance for women.
