Any new driver may be able to recite the Highway Code off by heart but if you've been driving for a few more years, you may need a little reminder about the rules of the road. Therefore, we at CoverGirl Car Insurance Services want to remind you about some of the many parking restrictions to watch out for.
If you don't want to spend your lady car insurance savings on paying a hefty fine, make sure you revise your knowledge of the Highway Code throughout your motoring life. However, for now, we've decided to go though just some of the road's parking restrictions to make sure you avoid receiving a penalty notice on your windscreen.
Yellow lines
Double yellow lines = no parking "at any time"
Single yellow lines = restricted during designated times
Parking fines may vary from city to city but if you pay within fourteen days you will usually get a 50% reduction - good news if you don't want to lose your lady car insurance savings.
If you feel you have been treated unfairly, you can also make an appeal against the fine. You will have to challenge it within fourteen days of receiving the fine. More information can be found from your local council.
School "keep clear" markings
These restrictions are in place for the safety of school children. The yellow zigzag lines can therefore usually be found outside school entrances with a time restriction such as "No parking Mon-Fri 8am-4pm". If you park here during school hours you could face an expensive fine and it would be like throwing your lady car insurance savings down the drain.
Red Routes
If you are a woman car insurance customer living in London you may already be clued up on the red routes. If you're visiting the city, however, you may like to know the following information. Like yellow double lines, red double lines are restricted at any time. Single red lines are restricted to the times given on a road sign.
If you have illegally parked on a red route, you may have to say goodbye to you lady car insurance savings as you may be unable to make an appeal.
Pedestrian crossings; Zebra, Pelican & Toucan Markings
At either side of a zebra crossing there will be white zigzag markings. These are in place to prevent waiting or parked vehicles from obscuring the visibility of crossing pedestrians. Any person found to be parked here may be issued a fixed penalty notice by the police, which gives both a fine and penalty points. Any points on a driving licence may increase the cost of your lady car insurance.
These are just some of the parking restrictions that are put in place to keep pedestrians and motorists safe from dangerous levels of congestion. If you've just be given a great deal on your lady car insurance and you don't want to see it wasted on a parking fine, brush up your motoring knowledge to avoid the chances of being handed a penalty notice.
