Despite the fact that women get cheaper motor insurance quotes because they are safer drivers than men, a study has shown that ladies are more likely than men to trust their partner with their car.
Research by Green Flag, a breakdown assistance firm, found that three quarters of female drivers would happily hand over the keys to their boyfriend or husband. In comparison, just two thirds of men would be prepared to let their girlfriend or wife get behind the wheel.
The study also showed a similar pattern when it comes to car maintenance, with half of ladies saying they'd let their partner look over their car but only a fifth of men agreeing that they would trust their partner to do so.
Lee-Anne Bass, spokesperson for women's car insurance company CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, commented: "It is amazing that ladies are quite so keen to let their partner drive their car, even though they know it is men's risky driving behaviour that nets them costlier motor insurance quotes.
"By rights, men should be overjoyed to let the ladies to do the driving!"
