Lady gets no chance at cheap motor insurance quotes

Let's face it, nobody looks forward to getting a motor insurance quote, even if they can get a cheap deal with a women's insurance company. However, a Serbian lady might well be wishing she had even got the chance to get a motor insurance quote for her new vehicle.

She was meant to receive an Aixam 500 on Women's Day as a present from her husband. The Aixam 500 is a special microcar which doesn't require a car driving licence to drive and can instead be driven on a motorcycle licence.

Her husband had gone to the trouble of buying the vehicle well in advance and had had it imported from abroad.

Unfortunately, when it got the customs, officials could not determine whether it was a car or a motorcycle and they decided to block the import whilst they were conferring.

As Women's Day approached, the vehicle was still at customs and even by the time the date arrived, it still had not been released.

This was too much for the lady's husband, who lost his temper with the red tape surrounding the import. He went to the customs depot where the vehicle was located and took a metal bar to it, smashing it into pieces.

He said: "I've done everything in accordance with our rules and with European rules.

"In the end I decided to do what I've done, they can have the car and stick it!" he exclaimed.
