A German lady isn't likely to get a cheap motor insurance quote any time soon after an unfortunate parking incident. However, she is no doubt happy about the fact that she is able to get motor insurance quotes at all, considering the danger she was in.
The 49-year-old woman driver was parking her car on the second floor of a multi-storey car park when the accident occurred. As she reversed into the spot, she got her accelerator and brake pedals mixed up and the car suddenly shot backwards through the wall.
Fortunately, it stopped just in time and the back end of the maroon saloon was left dangling above a pavement, but did not topple.
According to the car's owner, the accident was not her fault. She said the automatic gearbox had malfunctioned, resulting in the sudden loss of control.
Lee-Anne Bass, from the women's car insurance company CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, said: "It sounds like this lady - and the pedestrians on the street below - had a very lucky escape.
"Although the impact on her motor insurance quotes won't be pretty, at least the accident didn't end in tragedy."
