Female drivers may be putting their cheap car insurance at risk by driving today, a psychologist has warned.
Dr Cliff Amalls has calculated that Monday 22nd January is the most depressing day of the year, with issues such as failed New Year's resolutions and post-Christmas debt playing on people's minds.
However, it isn't just mental wellbeing that this phenomenon could affect. Cheap car insurance company Privilege has been warning motorists that their blues could cause distraction whilst driving and result in car accidents.
In an attempt to improve drivers' chances on the roads today, Privilege has put together some advice to keep their spirits up. This includes taking exercise or watching a favourite comedy film before setting out, as well as travelling with friends.
Kate Syred, commercial director for the cheap motor insurance company, said: "If you know you are somebody that feels down at this time of year, then Monday is likely to be a low point for you.
"But don't let a bad mood take over, especially when you are on the road - having a car crash certainly won't help improve the situation!"
