There is likely to be quite an increase in the cost of women's car insurance for a lady whose car rolled off a 40ft cliff and crashed onto a house.
She had parked the BMW near the top of the cliff in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, and got out, but apparently did not secure it properly. It rolled forwards over the edge and plummeted down the 40ft sheer drop before coming to rest with its back half in a house.
The Beaconsfield fire station manager described it as a "very unusual incident" and explained that there had been nobody in the house at the time of the accident as it was being renovated.
According to a witness, the only person injured in the car accident was the female driver of the BMW, who suffered concussion when she fell over in her haste to catch the trundling car before it went over the cliff.
A spokesperson for women's car insurance company CoverGirl Car Insurance Services commented: "It is very fortunate that nobody sustained any more serious injuries in this incident. However, it is likely that this lady will have to claim on her motor insurance and lose her no claims bonus."
