A 63-year-old lady has revealed her surprise that she was one of the lucky ladies chosen to star in a TV ad for women's car insurance.
The woman, who lives in Aughton, Lancashire, explained that she only put herself forward to feature in the Sheilas' Wheels ad because her grandson likes the music.
She said: "My grandson Ben was the reason I did it. He loves the ad and wherever I am he comes and gets me to sing the words and dance along."
However, she was amazed to receive the news that she had made it to the last 50, which meant travelling down to Gatwick, Sussex for a filmed audition.
Shortly afterwards, she was given the news that she had made it through to the final 30 and would be featuring in the real ads for women's car insurance.
She said of the final filming in London: "It's the first time I have ever done anything like this. They treated us like film stars. It was just wonderful.
"I didn't think I would get very far - I thought I would be rejected at the first try-out."
However, she has decided that although the ladies' motor insurance ad was fun, she is not cut out to be a TV star.
"It's been a whirl from February, but I don't think I will do anything like this again - there's too much hanging around and waiting."
