AA explains factors that influence cheap car insurance
The AA has explained that gender is one of the three most important factors in determining how cheap car insurance is going to be.
According to a spokesperson for the famous breakdown cover and motor insurance provider, age, gender and postcode are some of the most influential factors taken into account by insurers when they are preparing a car insurance quote.
He explained that women's car insurance is a lot cheaper than men's, with young female drivers sometimes finding motor insurance quotes that are half of what young men would get.
He said that young men have a particularly hard time getting a cheap car insurance policy, as inexperienced males present the biggest risk to insurers.
The AA spokesperson also commented: "Postcodes certainly make a difference to premium costs. If you're in an inner city area and you leave your car on the street you could pay three times the premium of somebody on the outskirts of town in a leafy cul-de-sac with their car parked in the garage."
