After delaying an ambulance transporting a dying patient, a 20-year-old
female
driver will struggle to find cheap women's car insurance in the future
after a judge banned her from driving for three years.
The woman and her partner laughed and mouthed obscenities as she dangerously overtook the ambulance cutting it up and slowing it down despite its flashing blue lights and blaring sirens.
The Ambulance crew had been sent to an elderly patient who had collapsed after suffering a heart attack. Attempts to resuscitate the dying woman were hindered after the ambulance driver was forced to brake and swerve to avoid the manic driving.
The ambulance woman was giving chest compressions but lost balance as the ambulance jolted around. The patient was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Although the judge emphasised that the driver's actions were not to blame for the death, he described her actions as, "moronic and dangerous."
She faces a three year driving ban and a 20-week suspended sentence following her guilty plea. She will be unlikely to find cheap women's car insurance when she is allowed to drive again.
Car insurance for women costs are likely to increase greatly as a result of motoring convictions and endorsements that could be issued to her.
