Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor, has admitted that, just like the stereotypical woman, driving isn't her forte.
In a presentation to the German Union of Police, she revealed parking was one of her weak points and she would specifically pick a small car to minimise the difficulties of getting into a space.
She said: "I'm the incarnation of all those clichés. Because women are bad at parking cars I need a small car."
However bad Ms Merkel believes she is at parking, she should not have to pay much to insure her Volkswagen Golf as car insurance for women is generally quite cheap.
She also added that her dream car would be a Mini, which she described as a "practical, small and pleasant" vehicle with "a certain rakish style."
Lee-Anne Bass of CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, a company which specialises in cheap car insurance for women, commented: "Although a lot of women drivers aren't confident when it comes to parking, many are better than they think.
"As an unsure parker, Ms Merkel has certainly made a good choice with her Volkswagen Golf. It is a small, manoeuvrable car that nets a cheap motor insurance rate, which suits her needs well."
