Warnings have been issued to anyone looking at a women's car insurance company quote to examine the small print carefully.
Research experts at online motor insurance comparison site moneysupermarket.com have drawn attention to the fact that policy documents can be worded in such a way as to be confusing, but that the 'key facts' document should be able to make everything clear.
Looking at a policy, a moneysupermarket.com spokesperson said, "You can read it and think 'well, what does that mean?', but the key facts eliminate that."
Previous Tesco research has suggested that female drivers are less likely than the boys to read the small print on their >cheap car insurance documentation. If this is true, then this message may be most useful in women's car insurance searches and online comparisons.
A spokeswoman for Covergirl said, "We always aim for complete clarity in our cheap women's insurance policies, and the key facts document is an important element of every quote."
