Are you looking for a new estate car? Have you thought about an Audi? Cheap car insurance company CoverGirl takes a brief look at the new A4 Avant estate.
Lighter yet longer than its predecessor, the new Avant has an impressive 490 litres of available boot space with rear seats in upright position.
Plus, it now boasts 1430 litres of luggage space when the rear seats are folded down. (The Mercedes-Benz C-Class estate is top of the rankings for luggage space with 1500 litres.)
But the seats do not fold completely flat and this can be problematic for some packing issues. It does have a luggage net and tie down straps (as standard) and there is an optional bar-and-belt securing system and powered tailgate available.
Ease of packing is well considered in the Avant and the tailgate has been usefully designed to be as low and as wide as the interior which enables trouble free loading.
There have been murmurs that leg room in the back seats is not really up to scratch, especially for the taller rear-seat passenger, but Audi refute this, naturally.
With prices for the SE 1.8 TFSI model starting at £23,400 and rising to £34,390 for the A4 Avant S line 3.2 FSI it compares favourably with Mercedes' C-Class starting at £24,600.
If you have an Audi, cheap car insurance companies advise shopping around for competitive car insurance rates.
